Tom hardy flipping the bird11/15/2023 It is unlikely that the ancient Greeks were the founders for flipping the birdie. Even then, the middle finger has a clear, obscene and sexual use. The earliest recorded mention is a play "The Clouds", written by the Greek Aristophanes in 423 B.C. The Romans did not invent this gesture, however. Flipping the Bird: The Origins of Everyone's Favorite Middle Finger Gesture tells us: (The Grateful Dead flipped "the bird" to the audience, tuned their instruments, blew up amps - for what seemed like FOREVER -then disappeared, leaving people disappointed and brought down.) ![]() ![]() It's a very serious thing to do.The earliest use in print I found of the exact phrase "flip the bird" or "flipped the bird" or "flipping the bird" is from a 1967 Broadside (Volume 6, Issues 17-26). It's such a tremendous honor to be given an opportunity to open up a case study on these guys, all these people. He's such an important iconic character, American character. Realistically, the kind of work that I want to do with him, I don't want to rush on that, that especially. Does that make sense? So yeah, I'm excited about that. So that's the draw, to open up an investigation on the man and to show and tell that as I'm doing it in real time. So it's that same excitement that I have for that to go and do a character study on a human being that exists. ![]() With Charles Bronson, I could meet and talk to him regularly.
